AstroMiner privacy
What data the AstroMiner iPhone game handles, why, who can see it and how to delete it.
In short
AstroMiner is an idle game for iPhone. You can play as a guest without giving any personal data: your progress then stays on your phone only. If you create an account, your progress is saved in the cloud and you appear in the rankings. The game shows video ads only when you choose to watch one in exchange for a reward.
Data is never sold. The game does not access GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and uses no analytics tools of its own.
Data controller
The controller is Federico Musso (online: Numbfede), a private individual based in Italy and the game's developer. For any request about your data write to numbfede@gmail.com.
Account and cloud saves
An account is optional. You can create one with email and password, Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. If you do, the following is processed:
- sign-in data: email address and Apple or Google account identifier (passwords are handled by the authentication service and are never visible in plain text);
- game profile: username, avatar chosen among the game's heroes, number of name changes;
- country: taken from your iPhone's “Region” setting, never from your location;
- progress: game save, level and experience, scores, damage dealt to the weekly boss, guild membership and contribution, promo codes and gifts redeemed;
- device model (e.g. “iPhone”), used to tell which device a save comes from.
- Purpose: providing the account, cloud save, rankings, events, guilds, promo codes and gifts.
- Legal basis: performance of the service you requested (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) and legitimate interest in preventing abuse and cheating in the rankings (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
What other players can see
In the rankings (global, weekly, country and boss) and in guilds, other players see your username, avatar, level, scores, country and guild. Email addresses and sign-in identifiers are never shown. Pick a username that doesn't identify you if you prefer.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Rewarded videos are provided by Google AdMob and only start when you tap a button to earn a reward. To serve them, Google collects data directly from your device, such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, ad interactions and advertising identifiers.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a Google consent form asks on first launch whether you accept personalised ads. You can decline: you will still see ads, just not based on your profile.
- Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) is only read if you allow it in the iOS “Allow app to track” prompt.
- You can change your choices at any time from Settings → Ad privacy in the game, and from iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- In the United States you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for advertising from the same Ad privacy option.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), collected through Google's form; where consent is not required, the legitimate interest in funding a free game.
Google processes this data as an independent controller under its own policy: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Players who buy the “No ads” option get rewards without watching videos.
In-app purchases
Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The game only receives the purchase confirmation (which product and when) to deliver your items: it never sees payment details such as your card or billing address.
Data stored on your iPhone
The game stores your progress, chosen language, preferences (e.g. haptics) and your ad consent status in the app's storage. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Providers
| Provider | Role | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (servers in Frankfurt, EU) | Accounts, saves, rankings, guilds, events | Account and game data described above |
| Rewarded ads (AdMob) and Sign in with Google | Advertising and device data; email and identifier if you sign in with Google | |
| Apple | App Store, in-app purchases and Sign in with Apple | Purchase data; email (possibly hidden) and identifier if you sign in with Apple |
Supabase, Google and Apple are US companies: any transfer outside the EU relies on the safeguards of Chapter V GDPR (standard contractual clauses and, for participating providers, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. You can delete it at any time in the game under Settings → Delete account: your account, profile, saves, scores, guild membership and code and gift history are permanently erased. The provider's technical backups may persist for a limited time before being overwritten. You can also request deletion by email.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent and believe your child has created an account, write to the address above and it will be deleted.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15-22 GDPR) at any time, and withdraw any consent given. If you believe the processing breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
Changes
This policy is updated whenever the game changes how it handles data. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
